Explore the natural and archaeological wonders of Cappadocia with this comprehensive full-day tour. You'll see the otherworldly volcanic rock formations. Early Christian rock churches at Goreme and climb to Uchisar Citadel, the highest point in the region. Your guide will tell you how these weird rock formations were formed through a long process of erosion. Then after a drive along the valley of the Kizilirmak River we'll stop at Avanos, famous for its red earthenware pottery. You'll see the potters at work and can even try your own hand. After lunch in a local restaurant we'll drive on to Goreme where we'll visit the open-air museum. Here you can wander around the remains of Byzantine churches cut into the living rock and admire the colourful mediaeval frescoes. The tour ends with a visit to the stunning Uchisar Citadel where the views from the top are truly amazing.
