Lake Beymelek

Lake Beymelek is a unique freshwater lake located near the Mediterranean coastal town of Beymelek in southwest Turkey. Forming in a limestone basin without any surface inflows or outflows, the lake's crystal clear waters are fed solely by underground springs. Surrounded by lush green reeds, Lake Beymelek offers visitors a peaceful oasis away from the nearby beaches. The water remains cool even during the hot summer months, making it the perfect spot for swimming, boating or simply relaxing by the shore. Pedal boats can be rented to explore the shallow waters teeming with tiny shrimp. Sharp-eyed visitors may also spot turtles, frogs and numerous bird species such as flamingos.
