Pepuza Ancient City, located in the central region of modern-day Turkey, is an intriguing site that holds both historical and religious significance. While the ancient city itself may not be as well-known as some of its counterparts, it played a crucial role in the development of early Christianity and offers a unique glimpse into the past. Situated amidst rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, Pepuza once thrived as a Phrygian settlement during the Hellenistic period. It was later absorbed into the Roman Empire and became renowned as a religious center. The city gained prominence in the 2nd century CE when it became associated with the Montanist movement—a Christian sect that emerged during the early years of the faith.
